Supported by two rounds of funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB)  since 2016, Tondossama and the PTUA have devoted their efforts to protecting The Banco National Park, which covers 3,474 hectares and provides 40% of the city’s water supply; promoting new road infrastructure, which is estimated to reduce over 904,000 tons of C02/year; and implementing better drainage systems to reduce erosion and flooding during the rainy seasons.

Tondossama is a strong advocate for strengthening policies and government programs that allow for large-scale operational and monitoring capacities to achieve effective and adequate response to climate threats. And he strongly believes in the ChangeMakers objective of holding global leaders accountable and inspiring world-wide action and change.

For Tondossama, climate action is a marathon not a sprint. He’s looking past short-term gains and thinking of the projects necessary to promote permanent sustainable development. ChangeMakers can’t wait to see what Tondossama and the PTUA will do next to inspire climate action and awareness for the 4.71 million residents in Abidjan.
